For a small backyard, start by comparing the Mythos 6x8 and Grandio Element 6x8 if you have space for an anchored panel kit. A portable cover suits a smaller seasonal project. A wall-attached solarium or a caterpillar tunnel needs a different site plan; neither is an automatic substitute for a compact freestanding greenhouse.
Research assessment, checked September 12, 2026. This guide compares manufacturer specifications, manuals and exact merchant listings. We do not have documented hands-on tests or a reproducible owner-review dataset for these six products. Earlier first-person testing claims and star scores have been removed. These are researched options, with limitations explained below; see our review methodology.

Compare the space before the kit
Measure the foundation, doorway, opening vents and access around the structure. Nominal floor area is not planted area: benches, the aisle and the frame use some of it. For the wider yard plan, start with our quarter-acre layout.
| Model | Space to allow | Decision to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| Mythos 6x8 | About 6 ft 1 in × 8 ft 1 in outside; allow access beyond it. | Level, anchored foundation; narrow doorway. |
| Grandio Element 6x8 | Nominal 6 × 8 ft; use the chosen base drawing. | Anchor option and weather limits; automatic openers cost extra. |
| Quictent GH1337 | 10 × 6.6 ft, plus anchoring space. | Seasonal cover; no numerical wind or snow limit verified. |
| Canopia Sun Room 6x8 | About 8 ft 7 in along the wall × 6 ft 7 in outward. | Wall attachment, roof drainage and foundation compatibility. |
| Bootstrap 14x20 tunnel | 14 × 20 ft frame; roughly 38 ft long with closed end doors. | End extensions and side access can rule it out on a small lot. |
| Outsunny clear portable | 71.75 × 39.25 in; only 59.75 in high. | Limited headroom; no shelves included in this listing. |
Palram Mythos 6x8 Greenhouse
The silver Mythos listing is B004HR1VFA. Canopia specifies 4 mm twin-wall polycarbonate and an aluminum frame with a galvanized steel base. Its outside dimensions are 185 × 247 cm; the door is approximately 56.5 cm wide. Check that trays and equipment fit through it.
One roof vent is included. Follow the installation manual for a level foundation and anchoring; the base alone does not secure it to the ground. Canopia provides an assembly manual and a parts/service contact. Confirm the part number before buying replacement panels or an automatic opener.
We have not verified a numerical wind or snow limit against this listing’s current US specification. Check the applicable model document before winter use; panel thickness is not a structural rating.

Grandio Element 6x8 Greenhouse
Grandio’s current Element 6x8 page specifies 10 mm panels, two roof vents, a maximum snow load of 25 lb/ft² and wind resistance up to 76 mph when properly anchored. The previous 50 lb/ft² claim and included side-vent claim were incorrect. These are manufacturer limits, not our test results or a recommendation for heavy snow.
Choose the wood, concrete or dirt anchor option to match the site. The steel base and snow-load kit are listed separately; automatic roof-vent openers are part of an optional upgrade. Read the dimensions drawing for that base and the warranty conditions before purchase. Grandio publishes assembly manuals and sells model-specific accessories; confirm replacement-part availability with its support team.
The reason to compare it with the Mythos is its thicker glazing and different vent/door arrangement. We cannot translate those differences into guaranteed overnight temperatures or heating savings.

Quictent GH1337 Portable Greenhouse
The current matching model is GH1337, 10 × 6.6 × 6.6 ft, rather than the earlier “10x7” description. Quictent lists a steel frame, PE cover, a zipped front door and screen ventilation. This is a seasonal covered space to assess on its own terms.
We found no numerical wind or snow limit in the product specification. Follow its anchoring instructions, allow room for the cover skirt and securing points, and do not buy it on the assumption that it can remain exposed through winter storms.
Quictent lists frame and cover warranty terms and a replacement route for connectors, stakes and bases. Warranty duration does not establish cover lifespan or immediate spare-part stock. Check the GH1337 size and color on the destination; availability may differ by variant.

Canopia Sun Room 6x8
The white B00M5J2WK0 listing is a Palram–Canopia Sun Room lean-to solarium, also associated with the Rion range. It uses a resin frame, 4 mm twin-wall polycarbonate roof and 3 mm acrylic walls, rather than the aluminum frame previously described.
Canopia’s drawing gives a 262 cm width along the wall and 200.5 cm projection, with a height of 247 cm. A hinged side door and roof vent provide ventilation. Check the wall fixing, foundation and rainwater details against the assembly manual. This is a building attachment, not simply a freestanding kit pushed against siding.
Do not count on shared-wall warmth to prevent freezing. Confirm applicable weather limits and replacement panel/door parts with Canopia for the exact model; we have not verified a model-specific loading figure here.

Bootstrap Farmer Caterpillar Tunnel
Bootstrap’s current All-Metal Caterpillar Tunnel begins at 14 ft wide; the 14 × 20 ft option is much larger than the earlier 8–10 ft-wide description. On that model, the closed butterfly doors extend about 9 ft beyond each end along its length. That makes an approximately 14 × 38 ft envelope, before side access, for the 14 × 20 frame.
The kit includes galvanized framing, ground posts and 6 mil greenhouse film. Film is not a separate required purchase as the old guide claimed. Side curtains provide manual ventilation. Optional trusses do not establish a snow rating: we found no numerical model-specific wind or snow limit in the listing.
Bootstrap supplies manuals, support and accessory parts. Confirm replacements match the current tunnel generation. A small-yard gardener should measure the entire envelope before considering this row-cover structure.
Check the 14 × 20 tunnel at Bootstrap FarmerDirect manufacturer link; non-affiliate. The link selects 14 ft width and 20 ft length; confirm that selection before ordering. Manufacturer manuals.
Outsunny Clear Portable Greenhouse
The clear B078H4LCBQ listing matches Aosom’s 845-154V02CR: a PVC cover over a steel frame, measuring 71.75 × 39.25 × 59.75 inches. It is under five feet high, so “walk-in” does not mean standing headroom. This listing includes no shelving; the earlier shelf-count and shelf-spacing claims described a different product.
A zipped door and top vent provide airflow. Aosom lists four ropes and four stakes and says it is unsuitable for strong wind, heavy rain or snow. A patio needs a suitable securing method; ground stakes cannot anchor into paving.
The manufacturer page links the model manual. A matching replacement-cover stock record was not verified; check the SKU with Aosom before treating the cover as replaceable.

Before you order
Compare the installed cost: kit, foundation, anchors, ventilation controls, delivery and any heating. Write down the full model name, selected base, included parts and the replacement-part contact. A missing loading figure is an evidence gap, not a low rating we can guess.
University of Georgia Extension’s greenhouse guidance explains siting, heat loss and ventilation. Our small-greenhouse heating guide is a next step for planning costs, not evidence that a particular kit will stay frost-free.
How we assessed these options
We checked product identity, dimensions, materials, ventilation, installation requirements and the manufacturer’s available support information. We then compared those facts with a small-yard buyer’s space constraints. We did not conduct assembly, durability, crop-yield or thermal tests, and we do not score or average customer ratings here. Product documentation is a starting point; it is not independent structural certification for your site.
